Maribel Feliciano is the Director of the Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) where the mission is to stimulate economic growth by attracting, retaining, and expanding key industries with a special emphasis on small businesses. She works collaboratively with community partners to deliver programs and support that empower entrepreneurs and business owners to start, grow, and scale their ventures.
Under Director Feliciano's guidance, OESBD administers local and federal small business certification and compliance programs, economic and workforce development, international trade, business development, technical assistance, communications and outreach, and promotes Broward County as a film destination through Film Lauderdale.
With over 28 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Ms. Feliciano has a wealth of knowledge in community and economic development, comprehensive and land use planning, small business permitting and compliance, community outreach, sustainability, and strategic planning. She holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University and is certified by several prestigious organizations including the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and Cornell University’s Women in Leadership program.
A highly acclaimed executive, Director Feliciano has earned numerous awards including the Partners Council Leadership Award from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the Inspiring Women of Health award from the Health Foundation of South Florida, the Hispanic Women of Distinction, the Empowering the American Dream Award and the Leader of the Decade by the Women Economic Forum Florida 2025, to name a few. Director Feliciano’s multifaceted professional background underscores her commitment to economic development in supporting Broward businesses and entrepreneurs.
